Show Blood and the Milk of Human Kindness TT IT SORT of revives ones one's faith in the human race A This was the comment of a doctor at the L D S hospital on the response of the people of Salt Lake City to ta an appeal for blood to try to save the life of a young farmer from My Myton ton Utah He said shortly after the story appeared in The Telegram Thursday evening the telephone at the hospital began to ring and scores of residents of the city offered to give their blood Others came directly to the hospital There were offers from middle-aged middle men and women young girls soldiers soldiers every every kind of person The hospital got plenty of blood to ta enable the sick farmer to build up his strength for forthe forthe forthe the serious operation which was required and it accepted enough more to ta build back the hospital pital blood bank which had been sadly depleted in furnishing blood to this patient The operation on a duodenal stomach ulcer was performed as a result of the donated blood and at last reports the patient was said to be in fair condition Certainly it is inspiring to see such a wonderful response from the people of Salt Lake City to an appeal for blood for a ayoung ayoung ayoung young man who was probably a stranger to all those who offered offered offered of of- their help It proves that not only blood but the milk of human kindness runs strong in the veins of Salt Lakers On behalf of this patient and of the hospital The Telegram wants to thank all aU those who gave or offered to give their blood Their splendid response to this appeal makes us proud t |
