A Guest PROUD PARENTS EVERYWHERE Its It's most pleasing to the dads And the mothers of the lads That Australia has found them All they've wanted them to be That a world so far away Where on duty now they stay Is glad to make them welcome And is asking them to tea News by letter press and wire Tells how ow much they all admire Our brave and gallant doughboys On that flung far-flung battle line And when duty's put aside Weve We've an honest sense of pride In the knowledge down in Melbourne They're invited out to dine Free from snobbery and sham All these lads of Uncle Sam Have won Australia's praises With their pluck and pep and punch And it pleases us to know That wherever they may go There are gracious men and women Glad to take them out to lunch Copyright 1942 Edgar A.
