Show What Readers Th Think ink Second-Hand Second Dealers Must Be Controlled Editor Telegram A few days ago in your columns an editorial appeared which is very timely but I fear will go unheeded You may recall that I was robbed of considerable machinery machin machin- ery at my various mining properties and the police of this city the sheriffs of Tooele and Juab counties were very Industrious in industrious In- In in apprehending the criminals the most of whom were convicted and sentenced to the penitentiary But the accessories to the crime the crime the junk and second secondhand secondhand secondhand hand dealers still dealers still ply their trade Notwithstanding the fact that the detectives told these dealers not to sell my stuff costing thousands of dollars and to keep it for evidence they sold it It is high time that some legislation and city ordinances be passed to give us taxpayers relief so that we have protection protection protection tion against these dealers They ought to know that stuff must be stolen when it Is offered them at around 10 per cent of its value and sometimes less During this last session of the legislature I was promised by legislators that a statute would be presented to cure the situation but my appeal fell on deaf ears and we mine owners hope that Chief will have support in his worthy ad advocacy advocacy advocacy ad- ad of ordinances to call these junk and second-hand second dealers to time tome and stop their nefarious ous practices Thanks for your editorial Harry S.
