W L. L Mackenzie King in last Tuesdays Tuesday's general election election election elec elec- tion it was disclosed Tuesday but they failed to change the final re results re- re suits in a single constituency Principal issue of the election was Mackenzie Kings King's conduct of the war which the opposition contended contended contended con con- tended had not been vigorous or efficient enough Despite the adverse soldier vote the government retains its record majority of seats in the dominion dominion dominion domin domin- ion parliament out of the seats contested in the election Voting for the seat scat was deferred The army navy and air force at home and overseas cast a total of votes with of them 50 50 per cent of the total total going going to opposition candidates running with Conservative Leader Dr R R. J. J Manion Manion Manion Man- Man ion as national government candi candi- dates Liberal or government candidates polled only 41 per cent or votes The remainder went to minor party candidates The servi service e vote favored Manion candidates in constituencies and liberal in only 99 The voting was done in four di divisions divisions divisions di- di visions one each in England the maritime provinces central Canada Canada Canada Can Can- ada and the west Results were cabled and telegraphed to Ottawa after they were counted locally rr W.
