VOTE FOR THE BONDS On this proposed bond issue it is time for young Utah to assert itself The Deseret News tells you OU that your vote is untrammeled that you have the right to vote just as you jOU please But the News belongs belongs belongs be be- longs to the dominant church and does th the will of its owners 01 Now you have seen these chief owners all your lives and know that they are just human beings and love all the g goods things of this world sinner the Gentiles as much as as' the worst among Knowing owing this do you believe they would oppose this bond issue if they were in charge 7 1 If they were it it would be clear would it not if the measure carried carried car car- ried ned that indirectly they would draw to themselves quite of the sum in tithing 1 If that is true then the question reverts back to the need of the money However there is no question about it for forthe forthe forthe the News declares that it would favor the measure if it could be assured that the money would be honestly honestly hon hon- estly spent Now look over the present mayor and council and then confess that it is a vast improvement improve improve- mont ment over the chumps that made up the council for fort forty years If you OU do not believe this hire an automobile automobile auto auto- mobile and spend a day in trying to find some visible visible vis vis- ible evidence of one public spirited act performed ly lV j those councils during the first forty years of the lys tys history Then find what during all those pars oars the News advocated in the way of public improvements improvements im im- im- im or of integrity among th the office holders By that time we imagine you will conclude that the News has has' never been your friend and is lying shamefully to you OU now on this bond matter When you reach that point you will be ready to agree that the city should suffer no relapse back to its old time tithe barbarism and vote ote for the bonds I
