Show LOCALNOTES Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Marriott entertained their family and their sons and daughters-in-law Christmas Eve and at breakfast Christmas morning. Present were Mr. and Mrs. John J. Creedon and Colleen -and Patsy, Mr and Mrs. Raymond Marriott and Danny; Mr. and Mrs. B. John Turner and children, Jack and Elva Kay and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Marriott of Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sicklebower of Holly, Colo-, are snending the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Robertson of the Knight hotel. Also here for Christmas was Mrs. Robertson's brother, Leo Sicklebower, who left Wednesday to return to duty with the coast guard at Seattle, Wash. One of the happiest events of Christmas week was the get-together of a group of old friends and neighbors for a No Host party par-ty Saturday evening at No. 2 Fire hall. There to exchange comic Christmas gifts, for dancing danc-ing and midnight supper were Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Morley, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Davies, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hall, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Allmark, Mr. . and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Robison, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Charl-es Jewett of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Max M. DuBois of Lark, Mr. and Mrs. W. L Faddis of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs-E. Mrs-E. S. Grant of Copperton, and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Pearson and Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bird, all of Midvale. Mrs. Leo Brisk and son, Jerry, are spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Covert of Spring City. Mr. and Mrs. Max Scroggin of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Robertson were Christmas Eve guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Scrog-gin.gin. Scrog-gin.gin. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Scroggin Scrog-gin were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clell Sorenson of Midvale Mid-vale Christmas day. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Trevarthen and William Robertson were hosts at Christmas dinner for four soldiers from Camp Kearns and one soldier employed at a local mine. Mrs. Erwin Carl Miller received receiv-ed three letters Monday from her husband with the army in Africa, Afri-ca, who said he "liked the country coun-try and found the people pleasant" pleas-ant" and he "was in good health". A familiar dinner Christmas celebrated three birthdays in the H. R. Gust family. Mrs. Gust had a birthday Christmas day, Don Gust was 11 years old December 23 and Mr. Gust has his birthday birth-day anniversary on December 16. Special guests at the dinner were Mrs. Meredith Smith and Arden Nichols. Covers were placed plac-ed for 11. Chaplain Meredith Smith this week was ordered from Cambridge, Cam-bridge, Mass., to Camp Dix, New Jersey, and notified he had been placed in a reserve pool of army chaplains. He expected to receive re-ceive further orders December 30. . Chaplain Smith talked to Mrs. Smith by telephone Tuesday Tues-day night. |
