FELT TELLS WHY HE KEEPS SON IN JAIL D. D P. P P. P Felt ta father her of ot Clyde Felt who is s confined in the county Jail awaiting trial for the confessed killing of Samuel Collins explained this morning why he IB does not want his son released on bail He said Visitors at the county Jail have been patting Clyde on the back lauding and excusing him for his deed That is the thelast thelast last ast thing I want to have them do and andI I have asked the Jailer to warn c callers llers against doing it I want my son to realize the enormity of his crime and to suffer some p punishment hent l nt for It That I is the reason we have riot not gotten l him m mout out on bail A good many men men have expressed a willingness to go on his bond but my idea is Ia to keep leep him in Jail jall awhile I I appreciate the sympathy of all our friends We have had letters of sympathy sympathy sympathy sym sym- pathy and condolence from California and from the East E-ast in most cases from friends Although I appreciate all ll this very much I dont don't want Clyde to ever go back am among ng his old friends again If we get him out of this I wan want t to take him out of the State away from all his old associations and let him begin begin begin be be- gin life over over again agarn I really fear his friends pore more than his enemies
