JOHN STRANGE MAY MAYBE I I BE BROUGHT BACK Admits He Ho Was Present When Col Was Killed but Took No Part in Murder County Attorney Christensen and Sheriff Naylor are expected home from Canon City late today They went to Colorado to Investigate matters In connection cAnne cAn cAn- con cn- ne tion with the recent affidavit of John Mace l In Jn which John Strange Is charged with the killing of Col The Utah officials In company with Detective De Lue of Denver visited the Colorado penitentiary and put Strange through a sweating It is said that at first Strange denied the charges against him but broke down clown finally and admitted his presence presence pres pres- presence ence at the time was shot but said he took no part in tho the murder It is not known yet what action will willbe willbe be taken by the authorities but It is thought that Strange will be arrested and brought to Salt Lake to answer to the charge of murder ulder Chief Hilton last night received the following dispatch from D. D C. C Scott special agent of the Florence Cripple Cripple Crip Crip- pie Creek railroad Reno and myself are satisfied If you take Strange there he can be convicted con con- Reno is the railroad detective who gathered the evidence that convicted Strange in Colorado
