Rice Rice Jones said had seen Patrick for tor forthe forthe the first time in the spring of ot 1900 and again In the summer of ot the same year but there was no conversation between the two men on either elthel occasion The night before Rice died the witness 9 gave him two powders that had been put up by a druggist in Houston Tex the witness did not know of or what hat they were composed Rice was very uneasy that night and to oblige him to keep keepin in bed and covered the witness opened the windows I Early in the week before Rice's Rices death witness said there w wa received a draft from Henry Oliver of Houston Tex rex for toward repairing the damage caused by the burning of ot the Merchants and Planters OH on any's comi plant This was the draft dratt cc concerning which Mr Oliver testified earlier in the trial
