Evans deputy sheriff The train crew Motorman J. J B. B Hale and Conductor L. L H. H Hammond Hammond Hammond Ham Ham- mond both of Salt Lake City summoned summoned summoned sum sum- Dr Elmo Eddington of Lehi who said Mr Smith suffered a broken neck mangled foot broken arm crushed ribs and possibly a fractured pelvis Mr Hale told Mr Evans that he saw Mr Smiths Smith's lantern go out and stopped the train expecting him to relight it When this did not happen he called Mr Hammond and they discovered Mr Smiths Smith's body just outside the west rail with his arm lying across the rail F. F M. M Orem assistant general manager of the Salt Lake Utah railroad was called from Salt Lake Leke City to investigate as was C. C B.
