Decision was reached to go with the program of mak-ing lap robes from woolen scraps for Bushnell hospital at Brigham City and the Veterans hospital in Salt Lake City. Miss Alice Virginia Brown presented the suggestion that a Halloween community party be planned for this month. Ann Mu-ha- r and Miss Jeffcott were nam-ed on the committee. Cake and coffee will be sold at the social to raise funds for an honor plac-qu- e which is to list Highland Boy service men. Mrs. James Jensen and Mrs. George Smilanich are members of the committee in charge of raising the fund for the placque. The Highland Boy women will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Community House. Honor guests will be the new Highland Boy teachers, Mrs. Veola Blaine and Mrs. James Clark. home of Mrs. O. Shulsen of West Jordan Monday. The Highland nouse Boy Community held a birthday service bunduy in commemoration of 16 years of service. Pictures that were taken when the building was completed 16 years ago and of the children and canyon at that time were shown. Mrs. Dan Bogden is visiting friends and relatives in Las Vegas, Nev. Mark Pavicich of the U. S. navy, former resident of High- land Boy, was transferred from Port Blakely, Wash., to San Francisco. Yengich, who wore a light blue suit with a gar-denia corsage pinned to the lapel. Private Cameron is with the 124th engineering and 13th arm-ored division and is stationed at Camp Beale, Calif. His wife is a former Highland Boy resident. The couple are making their home for the present in Cali-fornia. Women of Community Meet At H. B. C. H. Tuesday evening women of Highland Boy met at the Com-munity House to discuss various Erejects and activities. Miss Ada 'uhigg presided. The group sang "America The Beautiful" as op-ening number, with Virginia Jeffcott as piano accompanist. Miss Betty Bnmhall gave a read-ing, "Young Feller, Me Lad". Mrs. C. N. Granning, district minute woman chairman, was unable to be present but sent a report showing OPA pledges signed 100 per cent and over 200 pieces of jewelry collected for the "Baubles for Buddies" drive. Mrs. Charles- - Brlmhall intro-duced Mrs. J. Duwey Knudsen, district Minute Women's chair-man, who gave encouragement and suggestions for the Highland Boy women's war activities. The suggestion of a former re-sident, Andrew J. Jones, that a health committee be organized to cooperate with the school nurse was discussed and approved. Mrs. D. Garamandi and Mrs. George Smilanich were named to work for health aims, first of remember him as "Square" Pavicich. Private Marcy T. Martin of Camp Sibert, Ala., writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Martin, that for the past few weeks he has been out on man-euvers and was taking movies of army training. He states that he likes the army but is lonesome for old school chums. He is a; graduate of Bingham high school, class of '43, where he was out-standing in football. Mary Pasquali underwent an appendectomv Tuesday at St. Mark's hospital, where she is re-ported doing well. Miss Anne McGrath of Ogden was a Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Amsden. Betty Lou Houghton was an overnight guest Tuesday of Bet-ty Brimhall. Word was received this week by relatives of George Savich of the U. S. navy that he has been transferred from Farragut, Ida., to Pleasant, Calif. Miss Marjorie Brimhall of Wendover spent Sunday with her parents. Mrs. E. G. Ball of Bingham visited in Highland Boy Friday. Mrs. F. Lopez was in Salt Lake Monday to visit her husband at St. Mark's hospital. Residents of Highland Boy were sorry to learn of the serious illness of Peter Loverich. His daughter, Mrs. Sophie Loverich Piedmont of Arkansas is here visiting him. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brimhall and daughters, Marjorie and Betty, were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hudson of Copperton. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Adams were overnight visitors in Salt Lake City Friday and Saturday. Mrs. S. Silva has left for a stay of indefinite length with her par-ents in Pegosa Junction, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Baruttia of Salt Lake City were visitors here Wednesday. Mr. Baruttia, form-erly of Highland Boy, has three sons in the armed forces: Tony in the air force, Richard in the navy and Albert in the army. Saturday, September 24, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kopesic cele-brated their wedding annivers-ary with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Scor-zat- o. The two couples enjoyed dinner and a show in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Tregaskis of Tooele were Highland Boy visitors Tuesday. Marie Azzelio was a week-en- d visitor at the home of her par-ents. She enjoys her work at the University of Utah. Mrs. Roger Boissier left Wed-nesday evening for Kansas City, where she will visit her daugh-ters.
