M en route to Albuquerque Their car was picked up in Dallas Texas and travelers travelers' checks which the two men had carried carried car car- ried ned were cashed at various points with their signatures forged to them Sattler attempted to sell the story to lo various arious newspapers Says He Can Find Bodies Badia It was understood that he told Mabry he had proof that was alive and was living he believed believed be be- in Pasadena Cal He said other members of or the party were wen dead and that he believed he could coul lead the way to their bodies in th the desert near Socorro It was known that he gave Mabry the names of two persons a marand man mar and a woman who were said to have hav been involved in the murder of Mr and Mrs Heberer and Mrs The woman was said by Sattler to live at a St. St Louis address while the man was said to live in East St. St Louis Sattler gave street ad ad- dresses and descriptions of both these persons and Mabry said he would ask St. St Louis police pollee to check them Prosecutor Pro Grateful I I regard Sattler's Battlers story as worthy of or investigation Mabry said I talked with him for some time and andI I plan to go into the case more fully with him We Vo have followed many less promising clues in this baffling case and we will wm follow this one through Mabry explained that Sattler did not object to being held and showed a disposition to aid the authorities Sattler he said was a former newspaperman who said he had lived sometime ago at State street East St. St Louis and had operated operated operated oper oper- a small paper there called Town Tips |
