LIVING COSTS GAIN 27 PER CENT GENT i W WASHINGTON Sept 30 UP p- p After a survey of 32 cities the labor department finds the living Jiving costs of wage earners and salaried low workers has advanced 27 21 per cent over a year ago The survey covered principal items consumed by this low income group during the month four-month period ended July 15 The 27 per cent advance advance advance ad ad- vance was in comparison with June 1934 2934 Compared with June 1933 the increase was 8 per cent As compared with the period ending ending end- end ing ng March 15 the department said food rent and household furnishing goods were up a fraction while clothing and miscellaneous items dropped slightly The most marked change was a decline of 49 per cent in fuel and light t costs |
