Honoring Mrs. H. A. Cheever on her birthday Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Cheever and family, Elaine, Shirley and Jay, enjoyed dinner and the theatre in Salt Lake City. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Cheever were guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Guiver. Mr. and Mrs. Cheever motored to American Amer-ican Fork Thursday to visit Mr. Cheever's mother, Mrs. Anne Cheever, and to Provo to visit Mrs. Cheever's mother, Mrs. Lena Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nichols, Mrs. Emma Nichols, Mrs. A. E. Miller and Mrs. Heber Nichols spent Saturday fishing on the Provo river. Corporal Keith Rice, who is stationed at Richmond, Va-, with the marines, left Saturday following fol-lowing a week's vacation with his mother, Mrs. Jane Rice. A visitor at the James Jackson home is their daughter, Mrs. Edward Ed-ward Havlick, who has been in Washington with her husband, stationed with the U. S. army. Mrs. E. V. Miss Kathleen Conover will attend Brigham Young university uni-versity this year. Lafe Peterson, on a short furlough fur-lough from the U. S. navy, spent last Friday with E. Nix' sister, Mrs. Frank Wilcox: Miss Darlene Nix returned Sunday from a four-day vacation in San Diego, Calif., as the guest of friends. The Pinafore club met Friday evening at the home of Miss Beverly Bev-erly Nix. Lar-sen. Guests were Rhea Lou Olsen, Ol-sen, Vida Rae Poulsen, Estella Stringer, Audrey Groves, Betty Lou Houghton, Melba Ottoson, Vivian Wells, Lola Jean Gam-mell Gam-mell and Faye McKellar. Mormon Mor-mon bridge and Seven Up were played, prizes going to Vida Rae Poulsen and Lola Jean Gammell. Guest prize went to Miss Clgone Kenderick. A delicious luncheon was served and candy favors given giv-en each guest. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Armitstead and family motored to Provo Sunday to visit Mrs. Armitstead's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Conder and to American Fork to visit Mrs. Armitstead's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Conder. Mrs. Alfred Henkel, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Thorne and Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Armitstead motored to Salt Lake City to visit Mrs. Armitstead's sister, Mrs. Dean Lewis, who is in Holy Cross hospital. hos-pital. Later the Thornes and Armitsteads enjoyed dinner and a show. Primary officers met the afternoon after-noon of September 10 at the home of Mrs. Martin Jensen. Present were Mrs. Ernest Diederich, Mrs. G. T. Buckle, Mrs. Lucinda Ol-sen, Ol-sen, Mrs. G. O. Swain and Mrs. Ben Price. Light refreshments were served buffet style. Miss Mary Hess of Salt Lake City spent Saturday and Sunday at home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hess. home September 10 from Moroni, where she visited four days with Gladys Dice, who returned to Copperton with Miss Frazier to spend three days at the home of Dr. and Mrs. R. G. Frazier. Last Friday evening a slumber party at the Frazier home complimented compliment-ed Miss Dice. Others present were Jean Frazier, Lola Jean Gammell and Faye McKellar. In the early evening a theatre party par-ty was enjoyed and a midnight luncheon arranged for the girls. Mrs. Frazier served a delicious waffle breakfast next morning. The Copperton 4-H Sewing exhibit ex-hibit at the Salt Lake county fair in Murray won the girls a second place ribbon. Those who had articles on display were Maxine Warner, Beverly Nix, Jackie Barlow, Beth Cowdell and Ruth McKellar. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Poulsen and sons, Keith and John, left Monday to spend three days at the home of Mrs. Poulsen's mother, moth-er, Mrs. J. II. Mower of Fairview. Snow of Battle Mountain, Nev., who have been visiting in Salt Lake City, Copperton and Bingham, Bing-ham, were hosts at a delightful dinner Saturday evening at the University club in Salt Lake City. Guests were Mr. .and Mrs. L. F. Pett, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Robbe. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Matthews were visitors at the home of Mrs. Matthews brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Garrett, who recently moved to Ogden from Los Angeles. Visitor for two months at the home of Mr. and Mrs, II. P. Matthews Mat-thews is Mr. . Matthew's father, J. P. Matthews of Ironwood, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. L. C.
