L Following funeral services in Los Angeles Tuesday the body of Dr Martha Martha Martha Mar Mar- tha Hughes Cannon 75 who as a Utahn became the first woman senator senator sena sena- tor in the United States will be brought to Salt Lake for tor funeral services services ser ser- vices and and burial in City cemetery She died Sunday in the Pacific coast co st city Dr Cannon who was a pioneer physician of Salt Lake was elected to the first Utah state senate in 1896 and served two terms While in the senate she was vas credited with establishing lishing the Utah state board of health and was the author of at a bill which made this state notable in matters of health and sanitation according to a brother Dr J.
