| Show S' S LJ dilLon EN ENJOY SIGHTS H AT UTAH fAIR Boys and Girls Are Special Guests at Big Annual Exhibit Tho The school children of Salt Lake Lale and their pets held sway at the Utah state fair Monday i Despite the rain boys and girls of all li ages began swarming through the gates shortly after 9 o'clock in the mornIng morning morning morn morn- ing so that by noon thousands were were in attendance and each street car brought additional throngs In the building formerly housing the poultry sl sl ow ow the entries in the ther childrens children's pet show pet w were v re on display y Every kind of a pet from Shetland ponies to turtles were exhibited by their owners The judging of the pet stock show will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon The pets were brought brough t to the fair fairgrounds fairgrounds fairgrounds grounds Sunday morning and will remain until Monday l night at 8 There are hundreds of animals animals ani ani- mals trials and birds entered including rabbits squirrels dogs cats chickens chickens chickens chick chick- ens geese canaries parrots guinea pigs tortoises ducks pigeons and many others Ribbons will be awarded to the winners o of first second and third places SIlvEr r cups will be presented to the school having having haying hav hay ing the largest number of entries to the girls having the most popular popular popular lar exhibit to the boy having the most popular exhibit for the most rare exhibit by a girl and for the most rare tare exhibit exhibit- by a boy for the best trained pet pct entered by a boy and a girl and for the Boy Scout troop rendering the best first aid treatment to animals The show Is being conducted under the direction of Howard Lathrop CHILDREN INTERESTED All AH of f the buildings seemed to be popular r with the children The places paces most popular were the booths which were giving away free sam sam- ples pes From rom the time the Manufacturers Manufacturers Manufacturers' Manufacturers Manufacturers' building opened there were long lines of children in the vicinity vicinity vicin vicin- ity of the Clover Leaf dairy booth the Utah Canners' Canners association display display display dis dis- play and the Jello company exhibit as these places were giving out amples or souvenirs Just outside the main entrance of bf the l building is one of the most attractive exhibits This is the beautiful display of the McDonald McDonald McDonald Mc Mc- Donald Chocolate company The place is exquisitely decorated The modern means of making candy are demonstrated The fish and game building which is under the supervision supervision- of or DIL DH D. D Madsen state fish and game commissioner commissioner com corn missioner proved to be interesting interesting- to the children and was wa crowded throughout the day The huge native na- na na 1 tive throat cut-throat trout attracted the children as did the other varieties of fish including the suckers carp catfish down to the little minnow The wise vise old owl with his big shiny eyes pleased the kiddies and the golden eagle and his et the bantam rooster also aso cr much interest AWARDS ANNOUNCED The exhibit of the boys boyst girls' girls club w work rl under the supervision of H.
