Show JAYCEES FOSTER WOMEN'S GROUP; INSTALL HEADS Leadership of the Bingham Canyon junior chamber of commerce com-merce and its auxiliary, the Jay-C-Ettes, became a family affair when Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jimas assumed offices as presidents at a banquet held Monday evening in the Masonic hall. The Jay-C-Ettes were organized organiz-ed Friday evening to assist Jay-cees Jay-cees in their projects and social programs. First activities will include cooperation in the Fifth war loan drive and sponsorship of an American Red Cross nutritional nu-tritional course. Other officers of the Jay-C-Ettes are: Mrs. Elliott W. Evans, vice president; Mrs. Richard Rub-right, Rub-right, secretary; Mrs. Leland G. Burress, treasurer; Mrs. Elmo A. Nelson and Mrs. Dale Johnston, two-year directors; Mrs. Joel P. Jensen and Mrs. Harold R. Barton, Bar-ton, one-year directors. Mr. Jimas, co-owner of the Union Drug company, will have the assistance of the following officers: Dan Delaney, vice president; pre-sident; Richard Rubright, secretary; secre-tary; Harold W. Nielsen, treasurer; treasur-er; Eruce Johnston, Ken Shulsen, Shul-sen, two-year directors; Warren M. Woodward, chairman of the board of directors, and Elmo A. Nelson, outgoing president, state director. Tables at the Masonic hall were decorated with ivory tapers in crystal holders and arrangements of tulips, snapdragons and honeysuckle. honey-suckle. Favors for ladies were miniature spring bonnets on dainty hat stands. Tiny Bouton-nieres Bouton-nieres decorated the gentlemen's placecards. Baskets of lilacs gave color and fragrance to the hall. Jaycee notables present included in-cluded Utah state president Grant S. Thorn and Mrs. Thorn of Springville; Past president Jay G. Brockbank and Mrs. Brock-bank Brock-bank of Salt Lake City; Vice President Frank D. Fister and Mrs. Fister of Provo; State Secretary Sec-retary Kay Johnson and Mrs. Johnson of Springville. The program included violin solos, "I'll Be Seeing You" and "The Breeze and I" by Dale Johnston, and a vocal solo, "You'll Never Know" by Grant S. Thorn with accompaniments by Mrs. Jimas. The state officers mentioned and Leland G. Burress, incoming national director, gave talks and others who were introduced included in-cluded Justice of the Peace and Mrs. F. A. Miller; A.M.M. ljC William J. Johnsen, a member in service, and Miss Betty Williams of Sandy; Dr. and Mrs. C. N. Jensen. Mr. Brockbank resented Elmo A. Nelson with the -ast presidents' presi-dents' pin and he gave a clever response. Mr. Thorn installed the officers and Mr. Jimas spoke of the essential function of Jaycee work, "to inculcate greater civic consciousness and a deeper understanding un-derstanding of the obligations for community service by young men". The educational aspects of the work and the community betterment better-ment which follow were stressed. Elliott W. Evans, toastmaster, set the informal tone of the talks with witty comment. Those present included those mentioned and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Chesler, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gillam, Mrs. Dale Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. John Adamek, Andrew Jimas, Virginia McGrew of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Delaney, Eddie Arata, Lorraine Caulfield, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ivie, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Shulsen, Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Barton, Mrs. Harold W. Nielsen, Harry Keiser, Joe Vranes, Wilma John-sen, John-sen, Chris T. Praggastis, Midge Jensen, Mrs. Warren Woodward. The initial Jay-C-Ette meeting meet-ing was held at the home of Mrs. Leland G. Burress. Following adoption of the constitution and election of officers, three musical musi-cal selections were heard: a vocal number, "My Heart Is Singing Because Its May" by Maurine Morley and Catherine Goris with accompaniment by Anna Lee Burress; Bur-ress; a duet, "Tears on My Pillow" Pil-low" by Roberta and ReNee Johnston with Dale Johnston accompanying ac-companying them on his guitar; violin duet, "Minuet In G" by Anna Lee Burress and Dale Johnston with Mrs. Burress accompanist. ac-companist.
