| Show I 1 I The Busy Man Knows How 1 4 4 By JOHN BLAKE SLAKE I The old saying If It you ou have a hard Job give it to a man is based on experience I The busy man knows ws how I He knows how because cause he has been busy A life of ot ease may be pleasant to some people I but it doesn't teach them anything Go into an office and you will find the really I busy man Is s getting through his work with less II trouble and less apparent effort than the others His desk is generally clear I He has time to turn his attention for a minute or two to any new matter that c cm cosmos comes m up I He does not get fussed or lose his head when hen extra work Is plied piled d on him He t takes kes that and d does es it when he comes to it ft No back work is piled up that must be finished I It was never allowed to pile up It was done when it should have been done done in Its proper time During the war when a great deal of Important work had to be done In a hurry it was the busy men who were asked to do It and who did it carrying on their own work at the same time But for the men who were busy with their own affairs a great many things that had baa to be done might not pot have ha been done and the war might not have turned out as it did When there are aoe hospitals to build bull or work wor to tobe tobe tobe I be done for lor the poor or emergency relief funds to be raised when great disasters have swept cities away it Is the busy men that do it and they I Ido do It well For having been busy all their the lives which means having used their brains they have worked out systems of ot getting of-getting getting things done and they can apply these systems to any new line of effort eIfort I The head of pf a big business concern can always i find the time to look into a new proposition that Is likel likely to prove of ot profit to his firm I Such a man always always' has the time to keep his I private affairs in order and to look after atter the care caie of his home and family tamn I i And when drafted for a library board or any I other of ot the many public activities es that somebody I must do he is always willing ng to serve and does so soto soto I to the great good of ot the people I Naturally Intelligent busy men will not leave their own to do the work of others ers and they find I I i means of shutting out helpless loafers who try to borrow borrow- their brains But can always take ort on an extra Job or two if It it is worth doing either r for themselves or their fellow men I I But for these ese bUs busy men our communities would want for tor good schools good hospitals and good InI in institutions institutions In- In of ot all kinds for these are mostly directed by effort I It is a good thing that Ithe the busy man Is ready I to do the hard Job If It somebody were not there to todo todo do it It it would never get done I I Copyright 1925 by Y- Y the Bell l Syndicate Inc |
