A relapse occurred which sent his life to low ebb and after atter being returned to the hospital ll he died yesterday afternoon quietly and painlessly Mr Christensen was a graduate of ot the Brigham Young university where he first became seriously in interested interested interested in- in in athletics He was an in individual individual individual in- in star In basketball and track at that school and became known as one one of the best hurdlers of ot the state His first st coaching job of importance was at Bingham high school and there he developed one of the best basketball teams Utah has pas produced Continually he he put forth exceptional teams and his known ability in that direction led to his being offered a a. at WeSt Wes high school While at West Mr Christensen was crowned with the same success as 81 elsewhere re and his track and basketball teams always have been beena a credit to the institution Though his efforts were largely confined c to the development of ot the physical side of youth Mr Christensen Christensen Chris Chris- never for a moment lost sight of the mental and moral de development development de- de I of those with whom he came In contact and his advice and friendly Interest have served as an I Inspiration to many of the students who have worked under under- him He was held In high esteem by his I fellow Instructors and by the students students students stu stu- dents of ot the school This was evIdenced evidenced evidenced evi evI- in the spring of 1924 when after an absence of ot a a. year ear the students students students stu stu- dents and teachers rallied around aroundhim aroundhim aroundhim him and by petition and persuasion induced him to return to his former duties at West Mr Christensen was born at American Fork May 3 1886 a a. son of Nells and Phoebe Chipman Christensen Besides his widow Mrs Louise Firman ChrIstensen Mr Christensen Christen Christen- sen Is survived by the following brothers and sisters Bernard Christensen of American Fork John S.
