D on Christmas day to make a trip to one of ot t the fie e great hospitals of New York City where the less fortunate of or our sick are housed house 1 Gathering at the home of ot their leader in the early gray of Christmas Christmas Christ Christ- mas morning this little group of ten or twelve set forth on their mission of labor leaving their own Christmas bundles unopened behind them then Laden with simple homemade gifts the they sought t out the wards where crippled children lay In Silent si silent si- si lent rows of ot tiny cots Here they gathered round the Christmas tree and sang the carols while ethers of their number distributed the gifts among the children It was a simple visit conceived in the simplest spirit of ot gracious kindness and conducted in the simplest simplest simplest sim sim- sim- sim and most mot matter of fact man man- ner nero Yet that visit for these young young- I folks oll s was the high spot of their Christmas day daj casting its r radiant I glow over all the festivities that J I followed I For these young people had caught the true rue spirit of ot Christmas I Is there not a suggestion here for young oung people ever everywhere where es especially especially es- es for clubs of or young oung folk in their early teens For surely such a visit blessed both the visited and the visitor Dear Dr Crane Crane- What suggestions could you make for Christmas activities for fora a a. group roup of young youn people I am leader ofa of or ora a a. club of ot twenty between 14 and 17 years In a small city and we would like to celebrate mas to to to- gether Thanking you E ERG K R.
