Mrs. Ray Tatton is expected home soon from Yuba, Calif., where she visited several weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Johnson. Mrs. Robert Proctor of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove arrived Monday to visit 'several days with a sister, Mrs. Ted Robison. Mrs. Harry Bell of Monroe arrived ar-rived Friday to visit until Monday Mon-day with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steele. Ruth Robinett, who is employed employ-ed in a defense plant at San Francisco, plans to come home for Christmas holidays, she has written her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Robinett. Reuben Brasher of Napa, Calif., visited Friday with his sister, Mrs. Clifford Reid. Mrs. Caroline Huebner returned return-ed to her home at Elko, Nev., last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew An-drew Anderson, Mrs. Huebner's son-in-law and daughter, with whom she has been living, took Mrs. Huebner home. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stringham of Vernal were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mark E- CaldwelL Ross Johnson and Chicago Charlie Zahos got their deer Thursday near Grantsville. Forty-five years as a deaconess of the Methodist church that's the record of service ended with the retirement of Miss Nellie Stevens, 67, who paused briefly in Utah en route to Gridley, Calif., where she will make her home, to visit Utah friends. Miss Stevens, a graduate of the Kansas Kans-as City Deaconess school, was assigned to Bingham church 18 years ago and made many friends here before her transfer to Wheeling, W. Va., and Bridgeport, Bridge-port, O. She was honored Monday Mon-day at a tea given by Mrs. J. F. Barkle at her home in Copper-ton. Copper-ton. Mrs. Stephen Pickering presided pre-sided at the tea table. Twenty-three Twenty-three friends of Miss Stevens called. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Hodges of Tooele visited Tuesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hodges. Willadeen Hodges, B.Y.U- student, stu-dent, visited her parents last week-end. Women's division of the Utah War Finance committee is sponsoring spon-soring a "Pin-Up Money" war bond campaign in the next few weeks. Bingham Canyon Jay-C-Ettes are selling bonds at Union Drug store each afternoon and evening until November 4, it is announced by Mrs. Otto A. Weis-ley, Weis-ley, state women's chairman. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Baum and son. Tech. Sgt. Julian Baum, plan to leave Saturday to visit Mrs. Baum's mother, Mrs. William Wil-liam Rogers at Needles, Calif. |
