Mike Loverich and Andrew Savirh attended the Salt Lake Bee-Boise Pilots game in Salt Lake City July 9. Ruby Yengich, Erma Sponga, Nick Yengich, Mrs. Rose Yengich were visitors in Salt Lake City Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lukas were business visitors in Salt Lake City Wednesday and that evening eve-ning were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Church and family. of Murray. Mur-ray. Tony Azzelio was a business visitor in Salt Lake City Friday. Dr. W. E. Blackstock of Salt Lake City was guest speaker at the Highland Boy Community House Thursday, July 9. Mary Pasquali and Miss Frances Fran-ces Shea were dinner guests of Marie Azzelio Sunday. Vivian Ann Kosovich, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kosovich Koso-vich underwent a tonsillectomy Friday. Marco Yengich, Peter Padgen and John Muhar left Sunday evening ev-ening en route to Portland, Ore., where they will visit Mrs. Oscar Geortz and son, Donald. They plan to stopover at Haymen, Ore., to see Martin Ausich, stationed sta-tioned there with the U. S. coast guard. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kanniainen returned home Saturday after visiting 5 days in Hubbell, Mich., with Mr. Kanniainen's mother, Mrs. John Waltanen. The Kanni-ainens Kanni-ainens spent several days in Chicago. Chi-cago. Mrs. Matt Pazell and Mrs. John Predovich, and son, Johnny, spent Sunday in Ogden with Matt Pazell. Pa-zell. Miss Sarah Elizabeth Evans of New York was a visitor at the Highland Boy Community House Monday." Miss Evans represents the Board of Missions of the Methodist Me-thodist church. She writes for the Christian Advocate and short stories on missionary work. Mrs. William Hogle of Copper-ton Copper-ton was a guest of Mrs. Pete Uze-lac Uze-lac Saturday evening. Miss Mary and Christine Val-dez Val-dez left Wednesday evening for a stay of indefinite length in Ogden. Og-den. A Rummage sale at the Highland High-land Boy Community House Monday afternoon was well-attended. Various articles were sold and proceeds given the missionary mis-sionary fund. Mildred Muhar was an overnight over-night guest at the home of Mr. and Mr9. Mark Muhar at Cop-perton Cop-perton Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Louie Scorzato and children were business visitors visi-tors in Salt Lake City Saturday. Milka Tomas returned home Tuesday evening following a 30-day 30-day visit in Los Angeles and vicinity. vi-cinity. She was a guest of her brother, Duchin Tomas, formerly former-ly of Highland Boy. Mr. and Mrs. George Scheller of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Harry L. Parker of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Ross M- Cushing and daughter, daugh-ter, Gay, were guests Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Granning. Mrs. R. G. Steele entertained Tuesday afternoon at a one o'clock o'-clock bridge luncheon for eight ladies. Mrs. Carl N. Granning and Mrs. Charles won prizes. DVBS Ends Sunday evening a program closed another annual summer school session of the Daily Vacation Va-cation Bible school at the Highland High-land Boy Community House. Demonstrations of work done in classes were presented by some of the children. All articles in handicraft classes were on display. dis-play. Talks were given by students stu-dents of the school. Climax of the evening was presentation of lovely gifts to the teachers in appreciation ap-preciation of their service. Mrs. Mary Melich, Miss Ann Gerbich and Mrs. John Predovich Predo-vich and son, John Jr., were business bu-siness visitors in Salt Lake City Tuesday. Queen Esthers Elect Leaders The Highland Boy Queen Esthers Es-thers held their semi-Weekly meeting Tuesday evening. Highlight High-light of the program was the e-lection e-lection of the following officers: Marie Azzelio, reelected president; presi-dent; Mary Pasquali, vice president; presi-dent; Ann Muhar, secretary-treasurer; secretary-treasurer; Frances Shea, devotional devo-tional secretary with Ann Gerbich Ger-bich as assistant; Virginia Jeff-cott, Jeff-cott, social chairman. Plans were made for the annual an-nual hamburger toast Date of the affair will be July 28 and it will be held at the home of Ann Muhar. Delicious refreshments were served by the Questers as a farewell for old Questers and in honor of the new members of the Queen Esthers. A delightful evening was enjoyed. |
