A Guest 0 k EMPTY HOUSE The little house that seemed so gay Looks very desolate today The windows which last week weck were fair Have taken on a ghastly t tare stare No children round the doorway shout Gone Is the dog that raced about Already now the garden there Is suffering from a lack of care an empty house I pass I think how dull are stone and glass class And roof and walls and doorways ba gay When uninhabited they stay To keep their beauty they require The loving hands which never tire There must be happy souls within Or swift destruction will begin All doors and window panes arc dull Unless life lite makes them be beautiful When gracious tenants move mo away Not 1011 long the tile house will lovely stay slay There must be lau laughter lauchter and delight To keep a lawn and garden bright And all that human hands supply Or house houses t Just like people die cUe |
