Officers Of-ficers from Bingham included Mrs. Phyllis Mathis, Mary Sor-enson, Sor-enson, Mrs. Ruby Olson, Mrs. Ellen El-len Rawlins. Honoring Stanley J. Long, who left yesterday to begin training in the U. S. navy, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Davies entertained Wednesday Wed-nesday evening for sixteen members mem-bers of the S. P. Davies family. Prizes at cards went to Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley J. Long, Glenn L. Long and Clarence Watkins, both of Cop-perton. Cop-perton. A late luncheon was served. ser-ved. A farewell gift was presented present-ed to Stanley. Representing the auxiliary to American Legion post No. 30 at an informal reception and luncheon lun-cheon given yesterday afternoon at the Hotel Utah in compliment to Mrs. Lawrence Smith of Ra- cine, Wis., national president of i the American Legion auxiliary, were Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen, Mrs. Sam Feraco, Mrs. Mike I Brisk, Mrs. L. L. Watson, all of Copperton, and Mrs. R. A. Mu-rano. Mu-rano. Mrs. Neldon Chadwick of Salt Lake City entertained Saturday evening at a shower complimenting compliment-ing Mrs. T. B. Prigmore. Guests from Bingham included Mrs. L. E. Milner, Mrs. Herschel Green, Mrs. Mohleta Densley, Mrs. Ernest Ern-est Prigmore, Mrs. Ray Alves, Mrs. J. T. Prigmore and Mrs. : local notes : D. D. Moffat, general manager of the Utah Copper company, has announced that the University of Utah will receive a special trophy tro-phy case to hold all the awards and souvenirs of the NCAA championship basketball' trip. The case will probably be set up in the field house. April 13 the Utes were honored at a banquet ban-quet given at the Utah Copper club by the company. The afternoon of April 13 the Women's Democratic club of Copperton met at the home of Mrs. Charles F. Sullengcr. A delightful de-lightful one o'clock luncheon was served to twelve, which included includ-ed a soecial euest. Mrs J. n.'. mrs. j. i. rngmore ana Mrs. Martin Prigmore. Martin Prigmore expects to be inducted into the navy next week. Mrs. Prigmore and son, Jimmy, will make their honje with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Udell George Geo-rge of Sandy. Several affairs have honored the Prigmores. Wednesday evening Mr. and Mrs. James T. Prigmore entertained at dinner; Thursday the Prig-mores Prig-mores were guests at the home of Mr. and. Mrs. H. F. Dowd. Friday Fri-day evening Mrs. Delia Prigmore of Salt Lake City will entertain in compliment to her nephew and his wife. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gust attended at-tended a birthday dinner the evening of April 13 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Gordon Gust of Salt Lake City, who were complimenting Mrs. Gust's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Ethel Kallen of Los An- ey Knudsen. Bridge prizes were claimed by Mrs. William Brown, Mrs. E. Odell Peterson and Mrs. Ben Price. Mrs. James Denver received house prize. Mrs. James M. Sullenger and daughter, Jana Joan, who had been visiting in Vallejo and Oakland, Calif., since February 8, returned home Monday. I Mrs. A. J. Ablett left Friday to visit several weeks in Poulsbo, Wash., with Mr. and Mrs. John E. Green and daughter. Chervl. geles. Lt. and Mrs. George Tracy and daughter, Georgette, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Sorenson and daughter, Linda, all of Salt Lake City, were other guests. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence String-ham String-ham and daughters were dinner guests Friday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jenkins of Midvale. The occasion honored Dorothy Stringham, who was celebrating her birthday. Ruth Rebekah lodge No. 7, I-O.O.F.. I-O.O.F.. met Tuesdav evenine at A delightful one o'clock luncheon lunch-eon Saturday at the L. Buchman home in Copperton was for a group of friends of Miss Jenny Buchman. Lovely potted plants were used throughout the rooms. Prizes went to Miss Vern Baer, Miss Verena Graham and Mrs. R. G. Frazier. Others present included in-cluded Mrs. A. C. Larick, Mrs. Paul S. Richards, Mrs. Theo Ches- the home of Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen. Knud-sen. War savings stamps were, won by Mrs. H. R. Gust, Mrs. James Denver and Mrs. J. T. Davis. A late supper was served. Women's Society of Christian Service will gather at the home of Mrs. Ernest Prigmore at one o'clock Friday, April 28 for a silver tea. . The society is also sponsoring a cake sale at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Utah Power ! and Light office. Mrs. Elliott W. Evans entertained enter-tained at one o'clock luncheon for 13 members of Martha Circle Wednesday. The afternoon was spent knitting and sewing for the Red Cross. Mrs. W. G. Thomas and Mrs. R. G. Frazier won war savings stamps at the drawing. |
