O In which state he re remained re- re until he was more than 20 years of age Having become a telegraph operator at 18 he left his fathers father's store followed his chosen pursuit with various railroads railroads rail rail- roads In Ohio till 1882 when he went to Kansas In the employ o othe of the Missouri Pacific railway Two years later he migrated farther west taking a position as operator for the Denver Rio Grande Western West West- em ern railroad at Scofield Utah After a trip to his birthplace Tiffin flit fin and a so few months in tn Kansas City Mo he returned to Utah where he worked in telegraphic and clerical capacities for the Denver Rio Grande Western railroad at Scofield Cisco and Salt Lake City In 1889 1839 he became identified with the Pleasant Valley Coal company at Winter Quarters Utah Leaving that concern after twelve years years' service he came to Salt Lake as clerk to Manager H. H A.
