First East Street t First thence to A thence t Third and along the latter street t the eastern limits of Ute city The resolution under consideration granting a franchise to the Rapid Tranit Company embraced some oft of-t strettr but contained no stipulation stipu-lation compelling the latter company com-pany t actually operates road upon upn them The inhabltantsofthe North Bench needed rapid monopoly whose wellknown policy was t crush out local enterprises At a time when electric roads were but an experiment experi-ment and when there was danger that the money invested would boa total Io the Salt Lake City Railroad Rail-road Company hari established a Cmpny plant which was one of the best iin world I w now doing this city Splendid service its capital was owned by our citizens and It
