Show 'AN OPEN LETTER TO CITIZENS OF SPRINGVILLE Bands played, people were at the trains, a few shed tears when your sons, your brothers or your neighbors left to. go to war. Over 800 of your young men went into the armed services. They were called to defend our way of life; to fight so that you, the people of Springville, might enjoy that way of life. This they did with the help of God and our American way of life was preserved. pre-served. Most of those 800 came back, and are now among us. A few didn't come back. They were killed in action, fighting for you. These few are now being brought home. In the next few months you are going to have the privilege of showing your gratitude grati-tude and thanks to these departed heroes. Yes, each and every one a hero, for they gave their life for their country. Each returned war dead will have a full military funeral at which you, the people of Springville, will have the privilege priv-ilege of attending. This is the only way of showing your gratitude. Will you do it, people of Springville? Spring-ville? Will you show your gratitude? grati-tude? You didn't to our first departed de-parted hero! Will you show it to those who return in these next few months? A VETERAN. |
