Show Springville Stores Set Closing On Wednesday Most of the retail business houses in Springville will be closed on Wednesday afternoon through the remainder of June and until August 17, it was de- vCided at a meeting Monday of the retail merchants committee of the Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was held at Memorial hall under direction of Perry Goodliffe. committee chairman. This action was taken in view of the fact that the smaller stores could not rotate their hetp to give ,each one time off during the summer sum-mer months for recreation and home actvities. Shoppers are therefore asked to dd their shopping shop-ping before 1 p.m., closing time. Other events for which plans are being made by the merchants committee, were discussed and general arrangements outlined. These events include, another, "Back To School Days", August 19 and 20. Special Christmas Shopping event and a third yet to be outlined. The Wednesday closing will be for the weeks only in which there are no holidays. If a holiday occurs oc-curs during the weeks as for instance in-stance the July 4 holiday and July 24. observing the 24th of July, the stores will be closed only on the holiday that week. |
