Show NO RADIOS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS Little hope of new radios for Christmas was seen this, week as RCA-Victor held its first showing of post-war sets at a meeting 0f franchise dealers in New York. Bruno-New York, Inc., New York distributors, said that only samples and limited amount of sets for sale will be available in time for the Christmas trade. On the other hand it was announced that RCA-Victor plans to make' between 50,000 and 60,000 deliveries deliv-eries before the end of March. An interim plan proposed to help the Christmas trade calls for a certificate representing a promise of delivery for each set allocated for delivery before Mar. 31. This will be given to dealers, who, in turn, can sell it to customers cus-tomers as assurance of delivery some time before that date. The new sets displayed included includ-ed eight models. Four of these were table models, one was a personal per-sonal type radio, one was an automatic auto-matic table combination unit, and two were automatic combination console radios. |
