Mrs. Bird is the former Louise Averett. Local Couple Married In m Home Ceremony A lovely home wedding last Sunday Sun-day evening united Louise Averett, Aver-ett, daughter of Mrs Elva H. Averett, Av-erett, and Cpl. Guy Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy H. Bird. The marriage ceremony was performed per-formed by A. G. Peterson of Kolob stake presidency, in the presence of immediate relatives and close friends of the couple. The bride was attired in an attractive at-tractive afternoon dress of rose-color rose-color crepe and she wore a corsage cor-sage of white gardenias. Attending the bride and groom were Beth Averett, as maid of honor, who wore a rose-colored dress, and Bob Bird, brother of the groom, who was best man. For the ceremony, the couple stood before a large window with tall burning tapers on either side, together with lovely baskets of cut flowers and ferns. After their marriage, the couple was honored with an informal reception for members of the wedding party. A beautiful three-tiered three-tiered wedding cake was the central cen-tral decorative figure. Cpl. Bird left Wednesday for the Army Air base at Lincoln, Nebr., and his bride will remain here for the present. Complimenting Mrs. Bird, a bridal bri-dal shower was given by her aunts, Mrs. Nellie Child and Mrs. Bessie Averett last Wednesday evening at the Child home. An interesting interest-ing book review was given by Mrs. Wilford Mower to feature the program pro-gram and a tasty lunch was served by the hostesses. In attendance were about thirty-five relatives and friends, who showered the bride with many lovely gifts. |
