Cecelia Maycock gave a party celebrating Halowe'en for a number num-ber of little friends. She was as-isted as-isted by her mother. Mrs. Lena Maycock. Present were: Marjorie Bushard, Julia Ann Hennigan, Louise Long, Carol Cherrington, Wilna Brown, Louise Clyde, Louise Childs and the hostess. Verl Whiting entertained members mem-bers of the Viking group of the B.Y.U. at his home Sunday. The party honored Neff Smart, one of their members who leaves soon to fill a mission in England. Thirty Thir-ty boys were present to enjoy a delicious lunch. Remodeling of the three elementary elemen-tary grade schools is practically complete and ready for inspection inspec-tion and formal acceptance. The additions provide much needed class-room space and an auditorium auditor-ium in which the students may present school plays and other programs. Fred Sumsion narrowly missed looping his eyesight when shot from the gun of an unidentified hunter struck him just above the eye. Emil Ostlund, manager of a local lo-cal theater, has recently purchased purchas-ed the Howard Thorpe residence Richard Condie of Salt Lake City, a former resident, presented a number of his students in recital Monday night at the home of Mrs. Edward Clyde. Mrs. Glenn Sumsion entertain-eh entertain-eh a number of friends at their home this . week at a Hallowe'en party for her sons, Robert, Richard Rich-ard and Owen. Games and lunch with favors were diversions. Under the supervision of Harvey Har-vey Hutchinson, road supervisor, a new roadway is being built from the vicinity of John Whiting residence resi-dence on East Center street, south to the power house and to the city springs. The project includes about one and a half miles, of roadway and is a much-needed project. Mrs. Rea Straw was hostess to teachers of the Washington school at her home Thursday with luncheon lunch-eon covers arranged for Miss Leon Coopej, Miss Hazel Williams, Miss Elda Hanson, Miss Mattie Davis, Miss Bertha Bearnson, Miss Melba 1 Sumsion and Miss Luell Straw. Announcement is made of the marriage of Eloise and Evelyn Metcalf, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Metcalf of this city to Freeman Bird and Rusvsen Bird, cousins. Freeman is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bird and Russen is a son Of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bird. The marriage took place at Heber and both young couples are making their homes in Springville. |
