Show Schools, Organizations M Observance of Modal Book and Education Week Grant School Sets PTA Visiting Day, Clubs Plan Conjoint Program; Library Lists New Books In Observance Of Week Of Nov. 11 to 17 The week of Nov. 11 to 17 has been set aside by President Truman in formal proclamation as National Education Week, and he is urging, through cooperation and counseling, a strengthening of schools and colleges of the nation na-tion of each state and each city for their essential peacetime tasks. Observance of the week which, will also include an observance observ-ance of National Book Week in Springville, has been arrangeu '.,y various groups and individuals. The schools will observe the week by inviting parents to visit at any time and to consult with teachers on any subject relative to the welfare wel-fare of students. Women's federated clubs of the city will observe the week also, with a conjoint meeting at the high school this evening at 8 p. m. the program to include a review of a new publication and a talk on Book Week. At the Grant school, a special visiting day has been set for Thursday, Nov. 15. Parents are asked to come any time between j 9 a. m. and 2:30 p. m. At 2:30 p. m., light refreshments will be i served and parents and teachers will have an opportunity to discuss dis-cuss pupil problems. This meeting will replace the sending of report cards and it is important hat every parent attend at-tend some time during the day. Mrs. Helen Haymond, PTA president, is assisting with arrangements ar-rangements for the day. |
