Show Local Girls Win Style Revue Miss Delores Childs, Springville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Childs, and Miss Bonnie Beardall, Mapleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Beardall, were selected select-ed from a group of 80 4-H girls to compete with other county winners in the state style dress revue at the state fairgrounds Sept. 15 and 16, Miss Jenniev J. Poulson, home demonstration agent, said Thursday. Thurs-day. The girls modeled dresses that they made themselves as part of the Utah county achievement exhibit ex-hibit which was held Wednesday at the Provo First ward chapel of ;,the Church of Jesus Christ of Lat- ter-day Saints. Other Exhibits ... Winners from other group and individual entries in the clothing, foods, home furnishings and gar- . dening divisions also will exhibit at ; the state fair next week. Judges were Mrs. Nettie Lund, home demonstration agent of Salt Lake county, and Miss Rhea Hurst, housing and home management specialist, Utah State Agricultural college extension service. Miss Hurst appealed to the girls to live by the 4-H club motto, "make the best better." The big objective of 4-H club work is to 'develop boys and girls, she said. Donna Lou Brereton, Pleasant View, was in charge of the program pro-gram which consisted of musical numbers, demonstrations and a style revue. Safety Devionstrations ... Demonstrations of "safety in the home," by Juanita Pinegar and Rhea Lowry, both of Pleasant View, "making a fabric picture," by Donna Lou afrd Myree Brereton, Pleasant View; and "seam finishes," finish-es," Shirlene Roach, Palmyra, were given. |
