Show Bait For Hoppers Now Advises Expert Early baiting for recently hatched hatch-ed grasshopper nymphs has also controlled cutworms in the baited gardens and field margins, reported report-ed Dr. George F. Knowlton, Utah State Agricultural College extension exten-sion entomologist. The same bait is effective for both grasshoppers and cutworms. It now is time to begin bait field margins and other grasshopper hatching areas, wherever threatening threat-ening populations of grasshoppers are now appearing. The double benefit possible through controlling control-ling hoppers with minimum labor and bait, and also controling of populations of cutworms, makes baiting at this time especially desirable, de-sirable, Dr. Knowlton pointed out. |
