CLYDE, NEE MISS AILEEN HALES Popular Couple Wed In Salt Lake Temple A lovely wedding of early autumn was that of Miss Aileen Hales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Ray Hales, and Hal M. Clyde, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clyde. ' the bride. Ellen Ashworth and Mrs. Merrill Bushnell of Provo were in the gift room upstairs and were assisted by Norma Nell Straw and Carma Jane Mendenhall. The trousseau rooms were presided over by Kay Peterson, Coleen Callister and Edna Ed-na Nielson. Huge bouquets of gladiolus were arranged throughout the entertaining entertain-ing rooms and white satin streamers stream-ers tied on the stairway lent a festive fes-tive atmosphere to the home. After the reception, the newly-weds newly-weds left for an extended trip to tljie west coast. The bride chose for her going away outfit, a soldier blue dressmaker suit with winter white accessories and a white orchid or-chid corsage. The new Mr. and Mrs. Clyde plan to make their home in Provo during the coming school' year, where they will both enroll at the Brigham Young University. On the campus, Aileen will be president of the Val Norn social unit and is a member of the White Key, service group. Hal affiliates with the Bricker social unit. Complimenting the bride, a number num-ber of pre-nuptial parties were given the past week. On Saturday, Mrs. Sterling Price entertained at a luncheon for a few close friends of the bride and on Monday evening, eve-ning, Miss Joyce Whiting entertained enter-tained a group of high school friends at a bridal party at her home in Mapleton. The home of Mrs. Chase Allred in Provo was also the scene of a lovely party given on Friday of last week for college friends of the bride. The ceremony was performed in1? the Salt Lake Temple on Tuesday, this week, with Spencer W. Kimball Kim-ball of the Council of Twelve Apostles, Apos-tles, officiating. After the ceremony, the couple was complimented with a wedding dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Clyde at Hotel Utah. The following evening, eve-ning, a wedding reception was given at the Hales home. For the reception, the bride wore a beautiful model wedding gown of heavy ivory satin. The sweeping sweep-ing train fell from the waist which was trimmed with imported rose-point rose-point lace. Her veil, of bride's illusion, illu-sion, fell from a high crown of lace adorned with pearls. Her bouquet was of white orchids. Barbara Bailey Hales, Mary Louise Grooms, Barbara York Bird and Shirley Johnson Thorn were bride's attendants and they were attired in identical models of rustling rust-ling bengaline. They also wore pink crowns of the same material styled similarly to that of the bride's crown. Each carried a cascade cas-cade bouquet of long-stemmed roses. ros-es. Others in the receiving line included in-cluded parents of the bride and groom Mrs. Hales wore an apple-green apple-green formal while Mrs. Clyde was attired in black. Each wore a floral flor-al corsage. Grant E. Clyde performed best-man best-man duties for his brother and Delbert R. Hales and Norman D. Clyde were ushers. Mrs. Sterling Price presided in the dining room and was assisted by Mrs. Milton Harrison and Mrs. Victor Prandsen. Nanna Lee Reynolds Rey-nolds and Carol Clyde poured.
