Guests included Stewart Whit-in Whit-in honored guest, Bernice SOu- ' Ray Whiting. Laska King, Lvin Lindsey, Florence Phillips, Grant Hall, Bonnie Child, Max Whitins. Anna Mae Ludlow, Harold Har-old Lassen, Thelma Pierce, Loeen Crandall, and the host. Mr. Whiting was also honored with a farewell social sponsored by the Mapleton missionary committee commit-tee on Friday evening in the ward hall. Vocal selections by Freeman Bird and Glenn Holley, and a reading read-ing by George . Johnson, featured the entertainment, together with dancing. A large crowd of relatives and friends attended. On Sunday evening, the depart-in? depart-in? missionary was honored with a farewell testimonial. Talks were given by Grace Holley, Elder Whiting, Whit-ing, his father, Howard :Whiting, and Bishop Frank Jensen. Phyllis Smart entertained with a violin selection, accompanied by Mrs. Max Sumsion. Max Mendenhall Menden-hall of Provo gave vocal numbers, as did also Orpha Dee Bird. Elmer Bird, of the missionary committee, was in charge of the program. THE AVE DELULV CLUB IET ON WEDNESDAY at the home of Mrs. Inez Chader in the form of a Hallowe'en party, with Hallowe'en decorations and motifs used throughout the entertaining enter-taining rooms and during the delicious deli-cious luncheon served early on small tables. Bridge was also a diversion of the party with high score prize going to Mrs. Carrie Jolley and second favor to Mrs. Birdie Thorpe. Mrs. Esther Johnson won the guest prize and Mrs. Dolly Smith the traveling prize. Eight members and the following follow-ing guests attended: Mrs. Esther Johnson, Mrs. Maurine Haymond, Mrs. Thelma Clark, Mrs. Ann Johnson, John-son, and Mrs. Norma Bird. |
