Show Lovely ception Honors ewly Wedded Couple Of interest to relatives and friends here is the marriage of Robert Freeman Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman C. Bird of Mapleton, and LaRell Thurman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Thurman of Blackfoot, Idaho. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 10, in the Salt Lake temple, with Nicholas G. Smith officiating. Honoring the couple, a wedding reception was held at the Bird home at Mapleton on Wednesday evening, with immediate relatives and close friends as guests. The bride chose for her wedding gown a triditional ivory satin with orchid corsage. Receiving the guests were the bride and groom, their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bird and Mrs. Thurman, Thur-man, who came from Blackfoot, Ida., for the event, also Mrs. Henry Hen-ry Johnson. Mrs. Bird and Mrs. Thurman wore lovely corsages of gardenias and yellow rosebuds tied with orchid ribbon. The entertaining rooms were beautiful with decorations of potted pot-ted ferns and chrysanthemums. A beautifully decorated wed ding cake and a diningtable centerpiece of cut flowers with tall pink tapers tap-ers on either end, added to the attractive decorations. The reception featured an entertaining en-tertaining program with Ted Hay-mond, Hay-mond, toastmaster, and light refreshments re-freshments were served during the evening. In charge of refreshments were Genevieve Bird, Bernice Averett, Louise Harmer, Millie Bird and Anna Mae Bird, with Barbara Bird and Imogene Johnson, pouring. pour-ing. Mrs. Hannah Gene Fry, Mrs. Erma Hjorth and Mary Ann Bird were in charge of the gifts. Included among guests at the reception were the bride's mother of Blackfoot, Ida., and her sister, Mrs. Charles Maddon of Spanish Fork, also Mrs. Abbie Bird, grandmother grand-mother of the groom, who is 85 years old. The newlyweds have gone on a short honeymoon trip to Lake Arrowhead, Ar-rowhead, near San Bernadino, Cal., and plan to make their home in Los Angeles, Calif. |
