Show Miss Tuttle Married To Floyd Holley In Manti Temple Wednesday March 26 Miss Francis Tuttle and Floyd Holley were united in marriage Wednesday in the Manti temple. Miss Tuttle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Tuttle and Mr. Holley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Holley. Among the social events honoring honor-ing the bride was a party given Saturday night at the home of Mrs. Theora Peterson, sister of the bride. Entertainment for the evening included a review of the book, "Life of Mary Peters," given in an interesting manner by Floss Harmer. Luncheon was served in conclusion con-clusion to approximately twenty guests who presented the guest of honor with many lovely gifts during dur-ing the evening. Both Miss Tuttle and Mr. HoL-ley HoL-ley are graduates of the Springville Spring-ville high school, and Mr. Holley attended Brigham Young university univer-sity and has filled a mission in Germany. Miss Tuttle is a member of Les Vivantes club, Sorora club, and of the Federated Kappa Phi Lambda club. Following a short honeymoon in Detroit and other points of interest in-terest in the East, the young cou-" cou-" pie plan to make their home in Springville. JOVALTY CLUB HA9 BRIDGE PARTY Mrs. Lucille Packard was hostess hos-tess to members of the Jovalty club Thursday night at her home. Luncheon was served early in the evening from small tables, centered with violets, after which ORDER OP EASTERN STAR. ENTERTAINS GRAND FAMILY The Valley Chapter, No. 3 Order Or-der Eastern' Star, entertained the official Grand Family, Worthy Grand Matron, Worthy Grand Patron, and associate Grand officers offi-cers in their Grand visitation Tuesday evening. At 6:30 p. m. a banquet was served to 158 guests. Musical entertainment en-tertainment included two vocal solos by Mrs. C. A. Franks, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Tess Hatfield. During the entire evening a color scheme of white, green, and gold was carried out. Approximately 2 00 attended the meeting, with representatives being be-ing present from every chapter in the state of Utah, and some from I Montana and Wyoming. Nineteen of the Grand Family were present and sixteen of the past Grand Matrons and past Grand Patrons attended. Mrs. Vera J. Perham, Worthy Matron, was in charge of arrangements arrange-ments for the affair. PARTY FOLLOWS M. I. A. PLAY GIVEN AT PROVO Under the direction of Rhea Williams, the Mapleton M. I. A. play, "The Lovely Duckling," was presented in the Provo Fourth ward Tuesday night to capacity house. Immediately following the play, a delightful party was given for the cast at the home of the Y. W. M. I. A. president, Marie Stone. Progressive games were played and a delicious luncheon was served. LADIES LITERARY CLUB ENTERTAINED THURSDAY Mrs. F. C. Packard was hostess to members of the Ladies Literary club at an interesting program and business meeting Thursday evening. eve-ning. Following a tasty luncheon served serv-ed to eighteen club members, Mrs. E. S. Groesbeck and Mrs. Oliver Dalton entertained with two vocal duets, accompanied by Mrs. La-Celle La-Celle Sumsion. The program featured a review of the book,, "Round About South America," given in a splendid manner by Mrs. Glen W. Sumsion. Mrs. Paul Thorn was in charge of the program and later conducted conduct-ed a short business meeting in which officers for the coming year were elected. Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion was elected president; Mrs. Ed. Clyde, vice-president; Mrs. Paul Walker, secretary, and Mrs. W. H. Brown, program chairman. Plans were discussed for members mem-bers to attend the district women's federated club convention at Ne-phi Ne-phi on March 29, and Mrs. Sumsion, Sum-sion, president-elect, and Mrs. Thorn, retiring president, were named delegates, with Mrs. C. G. Salisbury and Mrs. Ed. Clyde as alternates. The annual art tea, scheduled for April 12, was also announced, and the next meeting scheduled for April 3 at the home of Mrs. W. H. Brown. THREE CLUBS HONOR BRIDE AT PARTY Mrs. Floyd Holley, nee Francis Tuttle, was guest of honor at a party given for the three clubs of SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED AT FORT DOUGLAS Under the direction of Fanchon & Marco, Miss Margaret Sinclair, well known soprano of Salt Lake City, gave a vocal concert Wednesday Wednes-day evening accompanied by Tess H. Hatfield, accomplished pianist of Springville, who has recently returned from Los Angeles. The concert was given at Fort Douglas for the soldiers and is one of the many entertainments sponsored by Fanchon & Marco. LEGION AND AUXILIARY HAVE JOINT PARTY SATURDAY One of the big socials in Springville Spring-ville society this week was the an-annual an-annual Legion and Auxiliary party Saturday night, at the Memorial hall. Early in the evening a delicious buffet luncheon was served, with more than 100 guests in attendance. atten-dance. Later the group enjoyed dancing danc-ing and cards. The entertainment also featured a delightful program of music and dance numbers. Mrs. Will Clark and Mrs. Ed Johnson acted as chairmen of the affair. , THETA TAU CLUB ENTERTAINED THURSDAY Mrs. Gladys Averett was hostess hos-tess to members of the Theta Tau club at her home Thursday evening. eve-ning. Dinner was served first, after which bridge was played with high score prize going to Olive Porter, Por-ter, second to Helen Dallin, and the consolation to Aileen Weight. Present were Mrs. Helen Dallin, Dal-lin, Mrs. Marie Morgan, Mrs. Clara Childs, Mrs. Delia Dallin, Mrs. Olive Porter, Mrs. Stella Straw, Mrs. Flora Maiberi, and Mrs. Aileen Weight. which she is a member Sorora, Les Vivantes, and Kappa Phi Lambda Monday night at the home of Miss Fern Simkins. Assisting hostesses were Edna Bartholomew, Merle Fletcher, Florence Brammall, and Annie Fox. Diversion of the evening was a variety of games for each of which guests received points. High score for points went to Miss Virginia Tuttle. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostesses in conclusion. Approximately twenty ? five guests presented the bride with a variety of beautiful gifts. PARI PASSUE CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS At a meeting of the Pari Passue club held Friday at the home of Mrs. Max Sumsion, officers for the coming year were elected. Mrs. Max Sumsion was reelected president; Mrs. Gerald Monson, vice-president; Mrs. Roy Henrich-sen, Henrich-sen, secretary - treasurer; Mrs. Woodrow Thompson, reporter for Provo; Mrs. Wm. Clyde, reporter for Springville; Mrs. Larell Johnson John-son and Miss Martha Bird, program pro-gram chairmen; Berniece Palfreyman, Palfrey-man, chorister; and Mrs. Kay Johnson, accompanist. Mrs. Roy Henrichsen gave an especially interesting paper on "Hobbies," after which luncheon according to a St. Patrick's theme was served to sixteen club members. mem-bers. FRIENDS ENTERTAINED AT INFORMAL PARTY Miss Lillian Ostler was hostess to a group of friends at her home Monday night. STAKE SEVENTIES PRESIDENTS ENTERTAINED 1 Kolob stake seven presidents of the seventies quorum were entertained enter-tained Friday night at the home of Lloyd Ashcraft. Jack Cherrington and Arthur Condie were welcomed as new seventies sev-enties presidents, and others present pres-ent were Lloyd Ashcraft, Jess Whiting, John Patrick, Leo Crandall, Cran-dall, and Amasa Larsen. Refreshments were served. HOME CLUTURE CLUB RE-ELECTS OFFICERS Members of the Home Culture club were delightfully entertained Friday at the home of Mrs. W. H. Anderson. Mrs. J. M. Redd of Provo gave a splendid paper on "Poetry and Its Appreciation." At a short business meeting which followed, the following officers offi-cers were reelected: Mrs. W. R. Eddington, president; Mrs. Ronald Ron-ald Thorpe, vice-president; Mrs. Maurice Bird, secretary and treasurer. treas-urer. In conclusion, luncheon ' was served to approximately twenty club members. FRIENDS ENTERTAINED AT CANDY PULL Miss Vera Bartholomew was hostess to a group of friends at her home Friday night, with the party being in the form of a candy pull. The girls attended the theatre, later "played games, and made candy. Those attending were Marian Francis, Vera Bartholomew, Lillian Lil-lian Ostler, Dorothy Long, and Maurine Francis. ROBERT KELLY FETED AT FAREWELL PARTY A farewell party honoring Robert Ro-bert Kelly was held Saturday night at the home of Mrs. Bill Phillips. A delightful luncheon was served serv-ed to the following: Emma Graves, Marion Pointer, Ruth Hatfield, LaVern Gourley, Martha Mason, Dorothy Weight, Thonna Holt, Keith Beardall, Dean Allan, Kenneth Ken-neth Boyer, Verl Weight, the honored hon-ored guest, and the hostess.
