Show GERMANY MAY HAVE TO BE DESTROYED The leaders of Nazi Germany seem inclined to make the defense of that country a house-to-house matter, evidently in the hope of emulating the example of Soviet Russia and making Allied losses so high that there will be chance for a negotiated peace. While no civilized individual would suggest the deliberate destruction de-struction of German cities, regardless regard-less of the necessity of warfare, there exists no reason whatever to omit any offensive action that will persuade the German to give up the struggle. Hitler once boasted that if Germany Ger-many had to be destroyed in the present war, he would take all Europe Eu-rope with him. The state of the war suggests that Hitler may be right as to Germany but he has lost the power to inflict destruction destruc-tion upon the rest of Europe. |
