Show Tribute To The Mapleton Building Committee By MRS. ARDILLA PERRY Tribute to the Building and Finance Committee of the Maple-ton Maple-ton Ward and the Builder, Lorin A. Neilson: Christ, the great teacher, said, "Be ye doers of the work and not hearers." I hope this little tribute tri-bute will convey to these fine men and women, the Building Committees and the Builder, that we know they have Indeed been the doers for the past four years. That they will know beyond a doubt that all the people of our ward have felt all along the same way Elder Callis felt last Sunday, dedication day, "The remarkable, beautiful spirit, your faith in God, and in your faces we could see no fears." To our Chairmen, Leo Harmer and Elmer Bird; Secretary and Treasurer, Marcellus Neil-son Neil-son and Willis Harmer; our good Bishopric, Finance, Soeial and Beautification Committees, your names are known about everywhere, - And although we have helped you all we could, we know you have worked night and day, and that all were under God's watchful eye, and He was always there. Years ago, when our good electrician, electri-cian, Austin Houtz, took the message of truth and light to South Africa, to ' that country God above. MEMBERS OF BUILDING AND FINANCE COMMITTEES . . . Leo Harmer, Marcellus Neilson, L. A. Neilson, Bishop Frank Jensen, Jen-sen, Freeman Bird, Dallas Holley, Ella Bird, Martha Whiting, L. E. Harmer, Richard Bird, R. L. Finance Committee Elmer Bird and wife, Willis Harmer and wife, Glen Holley and wife. Beautification Com. Spencer Mackley and wife, Ernest Whiting and wife, Oscar Whiting and wife. And let us always remember and appreciate the work of these committees; through the years give thanks to them and to our far away, We didn't know then he would be doing this electrical work in our new church, having knowledge of this great physical power of light, for our church some day. Now out of this clear-thinking commute comes our brother, Lorin A. Neilson, the builder of our new church; out of the native na-tive walnut trees from Spring-ville Spring-ville and here, he and his sons and many others under his supervision su-pervision did a great part when they prepared the wood and made the beautiful pulpit; it is indeed a wonderful masterpiece of art, and will always stand as a monument to him, this beautiful beau-tiful work inside our new church in Mapleton- When Raphael was asked how he painted such beautiful pictures, he answered: "I dream dreams, and I see visions, then I paint , my dreams and visions." I think that is what Brother Neilson did when he builded the inside of our chapel Tiere, With him, and all the Committees, let us do likewise, worship in humble pride, as the sons and daughters of Adam, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did, and our house of the Lord revere. Let us sing praise and appreciation apprecia-tion to our Lord and Master, to the Authorities of our church, the givers of all good and glorious glor-ious things we love, |
