Show Red Devils Clash With Strong Provo Five Here In Cage Headliner Final Prc-Season Basketball Tilt Set For Friday At 8 P. M.; Sophomore Team Will Play At 7 P. M. Coach Art Hughes' Red Devils will wind up their pre-season basketball campaign here Friday night against the touted Provo Bulldog quint in a game which holds the spotlight in Cen- tral Utah hoop centers. The game will start at 8 o'clock and will be preceded by a Sophomore tilt at 7 p. m. Trovo Touted . . . Provo's Bulldogs are being touted tout-ed this year as the team to beat. The Bulldogs have won 7 straight contests to date in as many starts, defeating some of the state's strongest clubs. They defeated Springville by a 42 to 25 count on the Provo floor earlier in the season sea-son and will be out to capture their eighth straight contest here Friday. Fri-day. The Bulldogs, while being favored to capture the tilt because of their outstanding record to date, will not get by the Red Devils without a stiff battle. Coach Hughes' men have been gunning for the Provoans and plan to spring a surprise for the visitors. Regardless Regard-less of the outcome of the game, plenty of fast and interesting basketball bas-ketball will be exhibited in the contest. con-test. Devils Defeat Lincoln . . . The Red Devils unleashed an offensive thrust against the Lincoln Lin-coln basketeers here last Saturday Satur-day night to sweep them off the court with a 37-21 drubbing. The locals held to an early lead and poured on the heat in the final quarter to run the score up to a 16-point advantage as the buzzer ended the contest. The whole Red Devil squad played in the contest and exhibited a more polished offensive of-fensive attack as well as holding the visitors , down defensively. |
