Show Work Progressing Rapidly On Mapleton Projects Interior of Amusement Hall Nearly Completed ; Gravel Pit Put in Operation Mapleton's $50,000 civic improvement program is progressing rapidly, according to a report , made this week by Mayor John I. Holley. The project includes remodeling of the amusement hall, construction construc-tion of a municipal swimming pool, tennis courts, a city park, and the improvement of the main side- walks and streets. Property owned by J. L. Pate and located on the foothills east of Mapleton was recently purchased pur-chased by the city for a gravel pit which will be put into operation opera-tion within a few days to supply gravel for cement work on the swimming pool and for walks and streets. The interior of the amusement hall is nearly completed. The stage has been remodeled, the floor space enlarged and the old hardwood ceilings have been made oval shaped of celotex for better sound effects. The outside of the hall is being covered with cedar shakes. |
