Show Quarterly Conference Is Well Attended Visiting Church Authorities Stress The Need And Importance Of Family Prayer; Relief Society Gives "Sunday Evening Program Elder Spencer W. Kimball of the Council of Twelve Apostles, Apos-tles, and Patriarch Joseph Smith, represented the church authorities authori-ties at Kolob stake quarterly conference conducted Saturday evening eve-ning and Sunday in the Fourth ward chapel, under direction of President Ernest A. Strong. Among other cnurcn principles emphasized by the visiting authorities autho-rities was that of the importance of family prayer. The importance of caring for a family was also emphasized and mothers of children child-ren were advised to stay at home and care for them as a patriotic duty rather than to go into defense de-fense work. Church members were urged to repent and work for a higher exaltation, exal-tation, seeking the Lord at all times in prayer. The Second ward furnished a musical program during the forenoon fore-noon meeting of the conference. Gordon Childs gave a violin num-er, num-er, Mrs. Jessie Dalton and Mrs. Mae Groesbeck, a vocal duet; Pauline Pau-line Boyer, a musical reading, and Mrs. Ellen Anderson, a vocal solo, all artimiani'pd hu ATrs Mftru R Boyer. Attending the morning session of the conference also were a number num-ber of servicemen home on furlough, fur-lough, including Floyd Stewart, Ray Clark, who gave short talks, and Oscar Boyer, Dick Dudley and Orval Lowe.
