Show AMERICAN FARMS ' TO PRODUCE RECORD 1942 CROP With Many American families dependent for their food upon the production of American farming, it is interesting to note that the supply of food in this country is expected to be the largest on record rec-ord in 1942. A small increase in crop acreage acre-age is expected in 1942 and crop conditions at this time are reported report-ed as generally good. Livestock has increased and the supply of feed is ample. The Bureau of Agricultural Economics Ec-onomics reports that stocks of crop and livestock products at the beginning of 1942 was the largest on record. Together with the increased in-creased yields expected in 1942, there seems no reason to expect a shortage of food in this country. This does not mean that we have any food to throw away. Our supply of food must be stretched to meet domestic needs, to feed our armed forces and to assist in meeting the needs of our allies. |
