Show 'College Receives Book Collection j The professional library of the late Mary Nielson, for the past 3 two years supervisor of Nebo j School District Elementary grades 1 and a resident of Springville is I now shelved at Snow College as an In Memoriam collection. With it S is a framed painting which was m Miss Neilson's office. It is titled ; RING AROUND THE ROSES and i ! selected as a specimen of free ex-S ex-S ! pression and child imagination in i 1 use of water color, the artist be-j be-j ing an unidentified child in South Sevier School District, j! The Library was given to the ' College by the brothers and sisters of the deceased, all of whom are graduates of the College. Miss Nielson graduated from Snow, and began her education career there as a classroom teach-! teach-! er, later becoming principal of the training school and later supervisor. supervi-sor. The library contains at present 139 volumes, all recently published books in the fields of psychology, 1 elementary school methods, child . guidance, curriculum building, art and music appreciation instructions. instruc-tions. The College this week expressed ex-pressed appreciation of the collection collec-tion because of its value as an asset as-set in education courses and because be-cause it represents the great thoughtfullness of its donors among whom are Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Nielson of this city. |
