Grooms and five grandchildren. The Springville Canning factory will begin the canning of tomatoes about September 1. The campaign is expected to last about five weeks and about 250 men and women will be employed. The canning can-ning company has contracted for about 16 acres of beans and 50 acres of tomatoes. Mrs. Thelma Clark, newly elected elect-ed president of the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary announces the appointment ap-pointment of Mrs. Flora Maiben as unit secretary. The first carload of green tomatoes to-matoes to be shipped from the county was loaded at Springville Tuesday directed by the federal inspector. A total of 20 building permits have been issued in Springville in the past six months representing a total expenditure of approximately approxi-mately $115,000. Of the amount, $50,000 was for the Fourth ward church leaving $60 for homes and other buildings. Tew family returned return-ed this week from the East Central Cen-tral States mission where the father had been president of the mission. After their release, the family spent ten days visiting points of interest in the East.
