Show Utah Traffic Toll Shows Increase - Utah motorists achieved an unenviable un-enviable mark during the first six months of 1950, boosting the number num-ber of traffic deaths for the half year nearly 23 higher than for the same period in 1949. Dead in traffic mishaps for the six months ended Friday midnight were 75 persons, compared with 61 for the first six months of 1949. Total deaths in 1949 were 174. Normally the trafic toll is lighter in the first half year than in the last six months. Despite the record or the state, 12 counties managed to scrape through the first half of 1950 without a single traffic fatality. They were Beaver, Daggett, Emery, Garfield, Grand, Kane, Morgan, Piute, Rich, Uintah, Wasatch Was-atch and Wayne, according to the driver's license division, Utah state tax commission. |
