Fox, nee Joan Miner Popular Couple Honored At Wedding Reception Following Temple Rites In a setting of late autumn flowers in skades of orckid and white and tall white tapers, enhanced by the atmosphere of the new Third-Ninth ward chapel, newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Fox received their many relatives and friends during a reception last Thursday evening. The charming bride), the former Miss Joan Miner, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Miner, and her husband's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John A. Fox, also of Springville. Spring-ville. They were married in the Salt Lake temple October 31, by President Robert L. Young. The bride chose a beautiful gown of heavy white satin, styled with a drop neckline with lace inset in-set accented-by a drop-waistline and short train, for her wedding. Her veil was finger-tip length, arranged ar-ranged to a crown of orange blossoms, blos-soms, and she carried a pretty bouquet of roses centered with an orchid. - Attending the bride were her sister, Mrs. Viola Jean Fox, as matron of honor; while Miss Eva Carol Leslie, Miss Doreen Fox, Mrs. Colleen Holley Bird, Miss Carol Friel and Miss Carol Holmes were bridesmaids. They wore identical dresses mad similar to that of the bride, in shades of orchid taffeta. Wrist bouquets of orchid and white chrysanthemums completed their ensemble. Merlin Fox, brother of the groom, did best man duties. Others in the receiving line included in-cluded parents of the bride and groom Mrs. Miner wore an attractive at-tractive formal of deep purple, while Mrs. Fox chose a gown of green crepe, floor length. Their corsages were of baby orchids. Little flower girls, Pamela For-shee For-shee and Camille Fox, nieces of the groom, were dressed in identical iden-tical formals of pale green taffeta and carried baskets of chrysanthemums. chrysanthe-mums. Receiving the gifts at the door were little Judith Lee White and Melanie Fox, nieces of the bride and groom, also wearing light green formals. In charge of the gift room were Mrs. Shirley W. Roper, Mrs. Cle-one Cle-one F. Ferguson, and Mrs. Nedra B. Fox. Mrs. Mary Smart, Mrs. Myrtle Bird and Mrs. Jessie Con-die Con-die were in charge of the kitchen with the serving done by Miss Clarice Kirkland, Miss Doris Bradford, Brad-ford, Miss Joy Fullmer, Miss Glida Ann Packard, Miss Mariene Oakley. Oak-ley. Mrs. Ruth H. Boyer presided over the serving. Mr. and Mrs. Randall White and Mr. and Mrs. J. Edward For-shee For-shee and Mrs. Alma Johnson greeted guests at the door. Miss Mary Boyer was in charge of the guest book. Music during the fore part of the evening was furnished by Miss Dorothy Clark and Miss Elaine Jessie, who gave instrumental numbers. Mrs. Edward Forshee played "organ music, as did Mrs. Lacelle Sumsion, who also played the wedding march. Selvoy J. Boyer, uncle of the groom, did a fine job as master of ceremonies, and announced the following program: Vocal trio, Ann Merie Fry, Doreen Fox and Janice Sargent, accompaniel by Norma Brockbank; vocal solos, Don Humprey, accompanied by Mrs. Forsee; pantomine readings, Lorna Boyns; piano solo, Carol Johnson, Salt Lake City; vocal solos, Bill Pratt; toast to the bride, Mrs. Shirley W. Roper; toast to the groom, Leo A. Crandall. Cran-dall. Both young people are graduates gradu-ates of the Springville high school, and the groom served an LDS mission in the East Central Cen-tral states. He is enrolled with the army reserve unit of Salt ; Lake City. j - After their reception they left on a short wedding trip and are making their home in Springville. I |
