Show From the Herald Files Fifteen Years Ago $ Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Mary Miller and Roy Blanchard which took place December 14, at Denver. Miss Miller is the daughter of James J. Miller and Roy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Blanchard. Blan-chard. A large group pof Springville people went to Salt Lake City Saturday to attend the funeral services for Mrs. Julia Alleman Child, a former Springville resident, resi-dent, who died Wednesday. Arnold Roylance has been on a business trip to California the past few days. Miss Hilda Clegg will entertain the Jovality club at her home on Saturday evening. Miss Merlyn Hall and Mrs. Blanch Hansen of Provo spent one day last week as guests of the Misses Charlotte and lone Hall in Salt Lake City. A three-act play was presented by the Mapleton ward Friday af-ternon af-ternon and evening. Cast members mem-bers included, Mack Whitney, Mrs. Bertha Scott, Mrs. Vera Stoker, Arthur Hall, Ivan Nielson, Irene Jensen, Rex Whiting, Fred Jensen. Jen-sen. Burton Tew and Mrs. Sadie Whiting were directors. The Second ward presented the 3-act play, "The Three Ghosts," Friday evening, directed by Mrs. Janet Crandall. Cast in the play were Arthur Boyer, Jessie Dalton, Dallie Tohlman, Leo Crandall, Helen Anderson, Oliver Dalton, Maurice Anderson, Harold Bissell, Erma Cellventra, Earl Groesbeck. Mell Kelly is convalescing from a recent major operation which he underwent at a local hospital Friday. Teachers of the Lincoln School including Lola B. White, Virginia Rivers, Ada Smith, Ruth Johnson, Mary Swartz and Miss Pearl Snow, were entertained at a toasted toast-ed sandwich lunch at the home of Sunny Gardner. He was assisted by his mother, Mrs. J. X. Gardner. Mrs. Almeda Evans has been appointed registrar of vital statistics statis-tics for the Springville district. Mrs. Myrtle Conover has returned re-turned from a two months trip to California where she visited her son George Murdick and family. fam-ily. Impressive and well attended funeral services were conducted in the Mapleton ward chapel Sunday Sun-day for Mrs. Catherine Fuller Hol-ley, Hol-ley, wife of John I. Holley, who died unexpectedly Wednesday night. With nearly 700 in attendance, the annual Black Hawk reunion was conducted in Memorial hall Wednesday evening. Long tables were set for supper and dancing followed. Alma Fullmer of the state organization conducted the program for the evening arranged arrang-ed by Capt. M. F. Miner. State GameCommissioner Newell New-ell B. Cook will be the principal speaker at the Fish and Game meeting here at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Satur-day. Lee Kay will also show moving mov-ing pictures. Mrs. Sam E. Wagner, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. George Crandall here, left during the week to spend some time in St. George. |
