Funeral services were conducted in the Community church Friday afternoon for Harry Carter, 64, ff-rmer resident of this city who died of a heart attack at Helper. i C. G. The high school dramatic art department has selected "Huckleberry "Huckle-berry Finn" for their annual offering, offer-ing, to be given March 12, under direction of Miss Wilma Young. The cast includes: Louise Miller Eli Tippetts, Elaine Brockbank, Dam-i Grant, Robert Cranmer, Naomi Na-omi Weight, Lois Whiting, Mildred Parrv. Glen Law and Dean Men-denhall. Men-denhall. Activities have begun at the high school to raise art funds for the April Art Show, announces J. F. Wingate, secretary - treasurer. The Mother Study club this week contributed $44 to the art. Wm. Parry Realty office is now a door south of the Rivoli theater. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pennington were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Crandall, Sunday evening. Principal E. E. Knudsen of the high school, has been informed j that the USAC Mens' Glee club from Logan and the orchestra arc coming to Springville Saturday to give an entertainment. The proceeds pro-ceeds will go toward the Art Fund. Friends will be interested to hear of the arrival of a baby girl at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pyper in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Holley announce an-nounce the arrival of a baby girl, February 22. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Sumsion also have a new baby daughter born on Washington's birthday, Feb. 22. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Barker have a baby daughter, born February 18; Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Ence, a baby daughter, born February 15. The bicycle licenses are now due and payable at the City Hall. Anyone Any-one riding a bicycle within the corporate cor-porate limits of the city should pav the tax. The tax on dogs for the year 1927, which is $1.50 per dog is now due and payable at the City Hall. Sealed bids are being received at the Nebo District School Board clerk's office for an addition to the Springville high school. Bids will be accepted until March 9. , t 20 YEAhS AGO ... The Legion Auxiliary meeting will be held Wednesday evening, at the Fire hall, where Aaron Men-denhall Men-denhall will give a talk on Americanism. Amer-icanism. The Legion Auxiliary entertained enter-tained for the Legion and their partners Saturday evening, to celebrate cele-brate Washington's birthday. Mrs. Mae Huntington gave a talk; Dick Neill and Helen Christensen danced dan-ced the minuet; the scouts from the First ward gave a drill. The program was followed by cards. Mrs. Hilda Grant, unit president, was in charge. Sixty people attended. at-tended. The Grant School faculty including includ-ing Lola B. White, Priscilla Nielson, Niel-son, Lucy Roylance and Luella Straw gave a party for the Lincoln Lin-coln school teachers and Mrs. Jessie Jes-sie A. Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Bar-bara Stoker Coffman. 66, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Effie Phillips. Largely attended funeral ser- vices were held in the First ward chapel Monday afternoon, for Mrs. Jane Mendenhall Sanford, 70, wife of Charles Sanford, who died Fir-day, Fir-day, at the family residence. Grant E. Alleman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alleman, who recently re-cently returned from Australia and Miss Josephine Brimhall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Brimhall, who returned from the California mission, will speak in the Second and Third wards Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Crandall of this city announce the birth of a baby daughter Saturday. Mrs. Crandall is the former Francis Seegmiller. Mrs. Daniel Sumsion plans to leave Saturday for a six weeks visit with her daughter, Mrs. Mel-vin Mel-vin Dalby and family at Oakland, California. Announcement is made of the marriage of Robert Harrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Harrison of this city and Miss Ann Dvorak of Ohio, which took place Saturday Satur-day in New York. Dop B.
